February is National Declutter for a Cause Month, and I couldn’t think of a better time to invite you to join me for something special: the Declutter for Good Challenge.
This is a 28-day decluttering challenge designed to help you reset your home and your habits—without the overwhelm, guilt, or pressure that often comes with decluttering. If you’ve ever felt stuck, frustrated, or unsure where to start, this challenge is for you.
What Makes Declutter for Good Challenge Different?
Here’s the truth: most decluttering challenges focus solely on getting things out of your home.
But what happens after you let go? That’s where this challenge is different.🩷
Declutter for Good puts intentionality front and center—especially when it comes to where your items go after they leave your home.
Instead of:
• Spending energy trying to sell items
• Defaulting to trashing things that still have value
• Feeling guilt or regret after letting things go
This decluttering challenge helps you:
• Donate items thoughtfully and purposefully
• Match your items with people and causes that can truly benefit
• Experience the feel-good payoff that makes letting go easier next time
When decluttering feels good, you’re far more likely to keep going. This isn’t just about clearing space—it’s about creating a positive feedback loop that ingrains decluttering as a habit.

How the Declutter for Good Challenge Works
The Declutter for Good Challenge is fully self-paced, which means you can complete it on your own schedule. No pressure to show up at a certain time, no falling behind because life got busy, and no scrambling to catch up.
Over 28 days in February 2026, you’ll tackle a different category of items each day—with two built-in donation days to ensure your decluttered items actually leave your home (which is common pitfall in the organizing/decluttering process).
Most daily assignments take just 15–30 minutes, making this challenge perfect for busy lives.
The challenge takes place inside the Refined Rooms Inner Circle Community, hosted on the Skool platform. Inside you’ll access a “course” for each day that outlines the assignment, along with a list of potential donation sites to explore within your own community.
What You’ll Need to Start Decluttering
Before starting the Declutter for Good Challenge, you’ll set yourself up for success by completing some basic decluttering prep work:
1. Choose a Donation Staging Area
Designate one spot in your home where donated items will live until drop-off day. This might be a corner of a guest room, a section of your garage, or a closet floor.
2. Create Your Decluttering Tool Kit
Gather trash bags, a Sharpie marker, sorting signs, and empty boxes. Having these tools ready removes friction and helps you move quickly once you start sorting.
3. Identify a Sorting Space
Choose a clear large surface where you can spread items out and make decisions—like a guest room bed, dining room table, or large section of floor.
What Counts as Completing a Daily Decluttering Assignment?
A daily assignment is considered complete when you finish the full declutter process for that days’ focus—not when the items leave your house. Here’s what that means:
• You completed the declutter process (sorting items into Keep/Donate/Trash)
• You determined WHERE the items in the Donate pile will be donated
• You gathered donations into a transport container (garbage bag, box, or tote)
• You moved that container to your donation staging area
• You posted in the community Daily Check-In comment thread for accountability and momentum.
How the Community Supports Your Decluttering Efforts
The Refined Rooms Inner Circle is here to support you with accountability and encouragement.
To keep things simple, you’ll post your daily check-ins in the Daily Check-In thread, ask questions in Challenge Q&A, share your wins in Wins + Progress, and find donation resources in the Resources section.
